Dear Emilie, hotel is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteCan you please add links to your presidents, or add photos.
Hi Emilie! My name is Greg Bryla, a landscape architect in Florida www.brylastyle.com and lucky enough to be one of your guest critics...in a constructive manner!
ReplyDeleteHotels are a great typology to create tranquility since you have to deal with multiple users instead of one, ie, a residence. Tranquility can also be a quality (tranquil). I would encourage you to list the traits/forms/imagery that you feel embody this quality. Some of your comparable projects are good examples of this (Dream Hotel, Hotel Ayre Rosellon) while others come across as stark, lonely and empty (Barcelona W, Entre Celios).
I would encourage you to see this through the eyes and emotions of your guest arriving to your hotel through the "frentic haze" that NYC can be. Your streetside approach is the first opportunity to signal an emotional response in the guest. I look forward to your site visit and analysis of context, sequence and setup.
cheers!
GB
Hi Greg! Thank you for your advice, I'll start working on that list because it will be of great help once I start making my concept models.
